Join the Landforce Crew

We are very excited to hire our fourth Landforce Crew. We are looking for adults (men and women 18 and over) who are interested in being part of an incredible team.  You will learn professional land stewardship skills, gain knowledge about our urban environment, and work to improve the environment in our neighborhoods, all while collaborating with our Workforce Development team to address barriers to employment, create a Personal Employment Action Plan, and connect with future employers.

In 2019 we are structuring our season in two parts: training and employment. Only those who successfully complete training can be considered for employment.

Training:

  • Six weeks starting on April 22nd
  • Hard and soft skills training, certifications (including First Aid, Tree Tender, OSHA 10, Chainsaw Safety Certification, and Restorative Practices), professional development and work readiness training
  • $10/hour for 35 hours/week

Employment:

  • Temporary land stewardship position following training and concluding Fall 2019
  • One-on-one career coaching, further work readiness training, opportunities for further professional certifications, and next step job searches that are meant to contribute towards future full-time employment
  • Working on projects like tree planting & care, rain garden & bioswale installation & maintenance, deconstruction, invasive plant removal, trail construction, and basic construction
  • $15/hour for 35 hours/week

This is a temporary position, but one that is meant to contribute towards connecting with future full-time employment.
